Yes, yes and yes
I just removed mine. Great turning circle now.
Sorry for reposting this but I couldn't find a picture. Am I correct that the big hex bolt in the middle is the steering lock stop - it's 28mm and I have 16in wheels.
Can I just change it did a m10 bolt with a nut too lock it?
Am I also correct that you adjust the opposite the stop on the opposite wheel?

So 23mm for a 245/75/16 should be ok?
Cheers
Ozscott, from what I've read elsewhere that's correct. Probably worth jacking up the front and just checking though.
Just make sure that you have the steering stopped by the stop and not by running out of steering box travel.
You can hear and see the steering "clank" when you have the axle on stands, rather than the "clonk" on the box hitting the end of its travel.
Add washers to ensure that the steering is stopped by the stop.
I twisted one of my stops off when I tried to remove it as they have loctite, so you can heat it up a bit if you feel like it.

Thanks gentleman.
Cheers
And don't shear the stop like I did. Had to drill and tap a new thread![]()
