Wheel alignment woes and intercooler question

Howdy folks, was after some advice on wheel alignments on the disco 2. I just had mine done as it has been pulling to the left, probably slightly but with me and my disabilities and only having left hand to drive with, slightly is a lot! they said it has a .43 negative camber, and that that is enough to probably be what is causing my now slightly less pull to the left, however, he also said that they are none adjustable that way. so my question is, is there a kit that can be fitted to make this adjustment possible? ill be owning my disco for many years to come, and really need it to not pull at all to the left lol!! it is much better since yesterdays alignment but still not straight enough in my opinion. and its not just the camber of the road.

my other question is who has fitted intercoolers to their td5s? I am looking into to this as id like to make it go a tad faster LOL. especially when towing, and am looking at getting it remapped to at least stage 2.
what are good brands, and good advice anyone might be able to offer so i can get the best product i can afford when time comes? and i guess most importantly is it worth it?

oh has anyone had any work done to improve their auto trans? i am not convinced mine isnt going to crack a fruity one of these days (i think my weird noise at 2500-2900 rpm could be trans related) or something to do with the 'drive train vibration' the tyre people noticed LOL. if it does die one of these days id like to i guess upgrade or improve it or make it stronger or something along those lines but i really do not know much about auto transmissions other than i wish i could still drive manual!

    Camber: Correct -non adjustable.
Your issue may be worn swivel/ball joints. The wheel alignment mob should have checked these to confirm this wasn't the problem. Otherwise you may have a bent front axle housing.
There is no kit to correct this (assuming it isn't the ball joints)
Some specialists can straighten a housing depending on the actual cause.

Intercoolers: plenty of threads. AliSport, Alive tuning (serk motorsport)are generally popular offering a quality unit at a good price. Paddock Spares are selling the earlier model Serk unit (Alive Tuning) for reasonable dollars.ASE are an Australian co making a quality product (Tombie was distributing these a while back) The Aussie distributors generally have nothing to compete with, offering the same brands with a hefty mark up. A quick internet search will bring up the local sellers who are interested in your business and those who hope you'll give them your cash.
A later model D2A cooler is considerably bigger than the original D2 unit and can be had for around 1 to 2 hundred dollars 2nd hand and offers a significant improvement in performance.
As yours is an Auto, you will have no choice to have the smaller of the upgrade units offered, which is only marginally larger than the D2a capacity.
Of course if you want to do extensive mods, anything is possible.

Auto trans- around the 250 to 300 km is a the point where most reported issues are happening, but I wouldn't be doing anything other than regular servicing until it shows signs of abnormal behaviour.
The noise at 2500 could be the flexplate, handbrake, or heatshield. So best to know what it is before stressing too much.
If the Auto needs a rebuild, there are at least 2 ZF specialists in Adelaide. A heavier Torque converter modified from a V8 to fit the TD5 with a lower stall RPM is an option to consider if and when the Transmission needs some attention.
Ashcroft Transmissions in the UK can supply you a Transmission and upgrade Torque Converter also.
Type in HD Torque Converter and Aschcroft Auto for a swag of threads and reading.

a lot! they said it has a .43 negative camber,
Probably the most common reason for negative camber would be a worn out ball joint, probably lower.

Be careful about having someone who knows Land Rovers do the alignment as many have the wrong specifications. For example JAX have toe in in their computer when a D2 should have toe OUT.

It is IMHO unusual for a D2 to pull to the left as they have neutral or negative geometry to stop that happening, so it is not normal.

All TD5s have intercoolers. The 2002 model onwards is called EU3 and has a bigger intercooler as the previous poster has said and not really possible to improve on the EU3 one very much, but of course you can add replace the intercooler in a 1999-2001 with a 2002-2005 one as the most inexpensive option.

The most common cause of drivetrain vibration is failure of the Double Cardan joint in the front driveshaft. You should have a Land Rover Specialist make sure it is not that as if it fails there is the possibility of very expensive damage to the transmission from the shaft banging around.
The handbrake vibration is very specific at 2200 revs so it is unlikely to be that.
I think it may be worthwhile to have a specialist diagnose the problems as the ones you state can possibly be very expensive if left.
    Hope this helps.

another cause of drive train vibration could be failed engine mounts it would pay to check them

the D2a intercooler sounds like might be a worthy upgrade. ill look into the cardon joint, the vibration sounds like its around that sort of area so definitely need to check it out. itmight even be that my spinner knob pulls the steering wheel down slightly but enough to make it pull to the left slightly. but im not sure, the camber thing on that side is what got my attention. ball joint does make some sense. they said they checked for anything loose underneath but all was tight so i have no idea what they looked at. i have not greased anything for a while now so i might get underneath today and grease up too
