Tuning won't change idle or cruise EGT much at all. Only full throttle.

Replaced the EGT probe last weekend for my MadMan EMS system after started getting dodgy readings. New probe ordered via AULRO member The Entertainer (thanks). Sorted the problem out.

I see 360-380 degC at 100kph. Idles drops back to around 200. Full throttle acceleration 0-110kph and peaks at around 680degC. I have an upgraded IC.

Today driving into strong head and side winds saw the EGT climb to 440-460degC at 100kph.

I have same temp low idle
450 to 520 up hills 550 when pushed.

I enquired about difference between end plate manifold pre and post loc. consensus was that temps 50-100 below manifold temp.

I had also questioned what temp is a conservative safe max but got mixed response.

Keen to find out what you find out/ what response you get.

PS I just fitted TD5 Alive boost box (no ECU upgrade or intercooler yet) smoother and more linear response thru gears. Temps consistent 50-70 deg lower and extra 50km per tank. (Cost 50$Aus)

There is no set difference between pre and post. It depends on about a dozen different factors and is continually changing. It can be several hundred degrees.

750C (true reading) in the manifold is safe. But put your own safety factor on that to account for measurement errors. Most people run about 650C sustained.

Where did you get a boost box for $50? Td5 alive quote 65 pounds on their website.
