mine was doing it when i first picked it up as well as the amigoes,I called into a landrover place in rockhampton and they reset and resynched. It has never lost synch since despite having the alt and battery out several times.
what is the unpleasant surpprise. The real milage??
Yes but not necessarily, but i've seen one case when the BCU's EEPROM went mad and reset itself to 0 and the odometer assumed it on syncronisation, other time it assumed the miles as km's so IMO better stay on the safe side and only disable the odometer error warning and you'll be OK.
Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
No one is going to complain if it went to "0"...
Although something went VERY wrong for that to happen
Just synchronise it - it won't be a problem.
