But given the original ARB connectors are pretty crap I was quite happy to replace them

I know, just a shame ARB didn't use them on my original bar lights.

The new ARB LEDs come with Econoseal connectors, which is why they are not 'plug and play'.

The originals are not Deutsche fittings, they're more like Narva's Quick Connects but in 3 pins:

So why buy whole new light inserts and not just led globes? Are they really that dull?

Because - the lights aren't sealed...
I have LED bulbs in mine - plenty bright enough but not "finished" in my eyes.

So which globes do you have tombie? Finished in my eyes means no little trailer flashing on the dash So do they fill with dust because they aren't sealed?

    I purchased sealed units..
The indicator works fine (fits sideways in the assembly).
The Parker however mounts forwards and wouldn't fit - had to cut the top off of the bulb which leaves the board exposed.

If you fitted them and then sealed the light assembly with Sikaflex or silicone it likely would be ok.

For me it's not about being dull or bright but rather to get rid of the trailer light indicator flashing on the dash.
