Congrats on the D3 Wasa, they are a very good thing and yes they are also good off road, my lightly modded D3 goes places even my very highly modded D1 on 33's would struggle and in many cases not make.
Then after you have been off road with a D3 you can drive it home in absolute comfort, unlike the D1 that usually has rattled most of your teeth out and caused industrial deafness by the time you get there.

Reading a number of the comments in here about D3's it would seem that many D2 owners are judging these vehicle without knowing much about them and or their strengths or weaknesses.

I love my D2a, its a great bit of gear which we drive almost daily, but the D3 is seriously light years ahead. ...

Now that Wasa is happily settling into his "new" D3, I have been exploring the low km D2a option.

Took a base model D2a with auto and no ACE with well below average kms for a test drive - drove well but what surprised me the most was how much the motor was revving all the time compared to my manual D2 and how it seem to wallow about without ACE.

I see Wasa has his old D2 up for sale on gumtree. Nice picture with his new D3 looking on in the background.
