    screem from my td5 help

    hi iv got a 04 disco td5 and it screems between 2000&3000 rpm sounds like a belt slipping so iv changed the tensioner fitted a new belt but its still there !any help to stop the old girl screeming would be appreciated thanks andy

    new manifold and gasget and she still screems but only when the fan clutch is engaged so im thinking it must be a pully

    Was the manifold actually leaking at all? The other thing to check is that the belt is the correct length, too long and it won't be tight enough.

    no it wasnt leaking but i changed it any way but now i need a top rad hose it burst on me on the way home from work this car will be brand new by the time im finished

    try turning the aircon off when it starts screaming see if that shuts it up

    Drop the belt. Off and if that shuts it up then it's one of the skinny bits.

    Of it doesn't and the manifold isn't leaking check the mount for the eye cooler/pipe, fixed one on base last week that was squeeling but it was from the turn in the pipe where it had developed a pinhole leak.

    found it it was the pully behind the fan the bearing was hanging out!
