Thread: Front Cross Member Bar Removal Consequences

Should I take off the cats and putt a straight pipe with a regular muffler...would I be gaining any more power, would I save gas. What are the pros and cons if you would.
I'm in my final hour of a long job:
Machined the heads with valve job.
Honed the cylinders and deglazed them.
Spray cleaned everything from underneath: First with Marvel Mystery oil, then with Diesel_ twice, and lastly a can of WD 40. Nothing was left from the honing.
New oil pump gears.
New water pump.
New Belt and Belt tensioner.
New kit for the power steering pump.
New 180 degree Thermostat.
All the Gaskets are new.
I wrap the manifolds with high temp racing fiberglass tape, then I used two cans of Hi-Heat Coating.
I painted the valve covers and the top with high heat paint.
I could go on with small details but I don't want to bore you.
I welcome any other productive ideas
