Also, not at home to check ECM/vin. The car was 100% original when I bought it so I'd be very doubtful that the ECM has been mapped.

NOOOO, "isolate well the plug against earth", i meant insulating the plug to make sure it doesnt touch earth!!!

cos that's how it should work, at least mine did it when it was standard and only the vacuum removed from the valve, got that code with everything plugged in, it's because the ECM "expects" a certain increase of IAT when the EGR is opened by the management and if it doesnt get higher IAT reading then it "knows" that the EGR is stuck closed and vice-versa when it's stuck opened.

You still get faults. I guess it senses the load is different without vacuum connected. Not all the time, but occasionally I get an egr stuck fault.

It's not about vacuum or load cos it happens with the system untouched in situ too...it's about IAT readings

i presume the engine was not started just ignition on and that "robust" term is other way to name the passive immobiliser(robust immobiliser) which in this case means it's enabled...about that IDs afaik the first 5 letters should be identical on a non tuned ECM(according to nanocom guide) but that's something i'm not certain about cos i might have misunderstood that

Have been running for a week now with the EGR solenoid unplugged, yet to see a fault code for it.
