Removing tranny oil cooler hose D2 diesel auto

    Hi,
I am having a little difficulty removing the LH tranny oil cooler hose. I have disconnected it from the box and all the holding clamps, Does it come out easier towards the front or to the rear of the vehicle?

From memory: Drop your Exhaust, from manifold to back of muffler, remove front cross bar. Wriggle the pipe down and out the front. Remember how it came out and refitting will be easy.

IIRC both my cooler lines both went out the front.
I had a suspension lift and I just rotated the lines as they passed critical points.
At standard height you may lift the chassis slightly to create the gap above the front axle.
    Cheers, Kyle

Thanks guys, I have successfully replaced the oil cooler line, but now the auto tranny wont take any oil. I have filled it till it comes out the filler plug, started the engine ran at idle, then had someone move the selector through the gears, but it would not take any more oil, it just continues to pour out the filler hole. I have disconnected the oil cooler pipes where they join the oil cooler and there is no movement of oil when the engine is running and the selector was moved through the gears, the intake side wouldnt take any oil either, and there was no oil flow from the line from the box to the oil cooler.
Any ideas? The transmission was left for a few weeks with the sump and filter off, and the oil cooler line disconnected....

Assuming you refitted both O rings and plastic spout on filter you may have to raise the front of the car , fill as much as possible ,replace filler plug , lower car then start and run through gears, don't run for too long. What you are trying to do is get the pump to take up the oil , you'll have gears when it does, if this doesn't work after a couple of attempts, try filling it using low pressure, you may have to make something up, hope you haven't fried the pump!
