    No

Looks like Australia on got the 4HP22. The RAVE says the 4HP24 was only used in the NAS market with the introduction of the 4.6 from the 03 model. Also says the 4HP24 is 15mm longer to accommodate a larger fluid pump.

I don't think we got the 4.6 in any Disco in Aust. I've never seen one at least.

according to my research, you can stuff a 22 case with most if not all 24 internals.
I hope so as that is what my gearbox guy is doing right now!
it's going behind my stage 2 Jose tuned td5 with a medium size torque converter.
I'm adding a second cooler too and a temp gauge.
transfer is getting a birthday too and cdl.
I should end up with a bulletproof towing trans.

    bloody hope so anyway.......

Think you can stuff 2 of the 4 24 gears into a 22. 1st and 2nd are too large if memory serves or I might have that the other way around.
That said, it's not at all difficult to stick a 24 in a d2 with either engine option. Do a search for Roarin 8 on here, he put a 24 in his td5 although the 4.6 tc is too laggy for a td5

You are lucky and sounds like a rare vehicle. The 4hp24 is good for 440Nm, probably 450Nm - hope you also have an upgraded intercooler and remap from td5inside. Hate to see the potential go to waste. 😈

Passenger side front of auto. Behind bell housing. Near the auto gear selector.

Mine is also a 4HP22. I know this because today I stuffed my fluid pump because I didn't align my torque converter correctly and have had to purchase some parts for it.

Lucky for me, the fluid pump from the auto that was in the '88 RRC is the same. I assume it is a 3HP xx? The pumps appear to be identical. Just need a seal, gasket, o-ring and bush.
