Apart from the rest of the discussion, just quick note. Replacing an MSB unit for an NNN one its just not the case of getting a flashable unit. There is a lot, and i mean a lot of benefits of doing this.

Imagine a computer program (wich is in fact the map file)... working on a pentium 2 (msb) or a pentium 6 (nnn)... pentium 6 is much faster to receive inputs and much faster to process those data.

You will feel this in the nnn unit in comparison with the old msb... less lag, less delay in throttle response, smother engine noise, more to tweak and tune in order to have better drivinetc etc etc....

Unfortunatly nnn ecus are getting hard to find in the market :(

Getting in the discussion... for 650Aud we can send you an MSB unit with remap to suit and you dont need to send your old one back :) This ecu will be setup for your car - we will ask vin number, see what was your original map file and go from there. There are 80 original fuel map variants, so I find hard to believe that someone sell's one map fits all :)

because im vouching for a chip not done by you & its a sale not going your way...

I never said "one map fits all"
I did say the TRS is a proven safe all round chip.
I get fuel economy, extra power for overtaking/Hwy use, more power towing, & it still behaves nicely off the pedal 4wd-ing.
thats all round enough for me.
As for the 2 different ECU's, maybe the nnn will process & bit quicker but for all the extra$$ converting, im not going to worry about a bit of lag in my 15 yr old 2.5 litre diesel.(dont really get lag anyhow)
We not all mud/4wd racers......

Again im happy with TRS chip & will continue to tell people about the results.:)

Not jumping over you mate! Just explaining the difference between both ecus! Really don't need to get in to debates like this! If your happy! That's fine! People should search, read opinions and decide for who has best offer and who has most positive feedbacks!

I've had two TRS chip vehicles and it was certainly an improvement.
But it wasn't brilliant and reality is while the TD5 is getting older the TRS chip or any MSB chip is the base line now, complete with surges at 1800 RPM, particularly noticeable in a manual in 40kmh school zones and a number of variations with peaks and lags depending on BD, TRS etc.
No MSB works as smooth or provides the flexibility of the NNN unit.

Whether Jose sells a NNN unit with his map or not doesn't change the facts about the ECU
When TD5's were relatively new options for a NNN were slim and expensive. Not anymore.
The forum has huge amount of posts and threads on TD5 ECU.
Jose provides a very good product and service to AULRO members. We have but a handful of genuine/ helpful suppliers who are also enthusiasts on this forum offering services,
I don't get why he or others should have a "swipe" taken at them for stating truth and offering a service just because someone disagrees.

As an extra..... There was a member "Offtrack" some time ago who was brilliant with D2 ECUs and all things electrical. He was often "talked down to" by some and ultimately one day told the whole forum to "stuff it" and never returned. We are much poorer for him leaving. I don't know Jose personally so can't be accused of protecting mates, however, I don't wish to see Jose do the same for daring to offer his help.

Hi, i'm interested in such thing cos i'm making experiments on my own car and tried more chips(with different maps) in my MSB ECU which has a socket soldered instead of the chip so i can just swap chips(i have EGT and accurate coolant temp gauges so i'm carefull to not burn out the engine though ;)... if it's not some proffesional secret can you tell what do you mean by "ECU setup for your car"... do you mean that you make some other mods too within the ECU other than inserting a remapped chip in it?
