Decisions, decisions, which Disco do I choose?

    Hello all
I am looking at getting a Discovery 2 and in my searches I have found these three vehicles, The 2 1999 models have about the same kms but different equipment and price, but why is the NSW so much cheaper? has it been thrashed? I prefer the SA vehicle as I like (the colour and) the lowish Kms and the CDL

2004 Land Rover Discovery Series II Silver 5 Speed Manual Wagon | Cars, Vans & Utes | Gumtree Australia Charles Sturt Area - Hendon | 1058182065

I have the 7 seater booked in for a pre purchase inspection on Monday at Hunter Cuthills

    Any comments?

    Bo

    The 2004 model hands down...

Better, more effective Traction Control (SLABS module)
    Already has CDL (factory)

And facelift - so better head lights etc...

    Thanks, that's what I'm thinking,

So if they are asking $10,000 for it, what should I offer? $8,000?

SLABS is the ecu that controls Self Leveling Suspension, ABS, Traction Control and Hill Descent Control. I believe Tombie is saying it has better algorithms.

The 2004. Updated engine. Most of the pre facelift issues sorted. What Tombie said ... It's a 5 seater by the looks and manual ... Probably doesn't have SLS.

    Would be my pick.

I wouldn't bother looking at the old 1999 models if your budget stretches that bit further for the 2004 - 5 years newer but looks a lot more than that with the classy headlights and it's form the end of the model run which means some improvements along the way verses the 1999 from the beginning which had teething issues.

    Microcat says coil springs,

So does any one know of a good Land Rover mechanic in Adelaide for a pre purchase inspection?

For your inspection I'd recommend Peter Brown at PCB Landovers 08 8350 0110
PCB Independent Landrover Specialists - Servicing, Repairs, Modifications & Spare Parts

You could also try TRS (Triumph Rover Spares) or Sovereign Landrover/ Jaguar.

    Ive used them all
