Thread: Fraser Island

Just for reference a Discovery 1 diff from an Oct 1994 disco fits into a 2004 Discovery 2. Only difference is the pinion has a nut holding it in rather than a bolt. Broke my diff carrier recovering a GQ Patrol from Nolan's Brooke. To be fair on the Patrol it towed me out onto the main road to drive 300kms to Coen in order to fit the D1 diff centre.

Admin are you able to delete this post. It's gloating and makes me insanely jelous😤.

It is a great spot, done it a few times with the D2 and D3, when in Oz.


But I'm afraid you may have just invited the kiss of death, on the Disco, I know if I had posted that, the very next thing to happen would be a mechanical disaster!!

Great to hear, Shane. I heard the diff went and thought that at least now you have replaced every part of the car.

Good work on persisting where others, including me, would probably have bailed on the car by now!
