    It's making noises

    Hey guys!
I'm having some issues with my D2 Classic, it seems to be making the hi pitched "squealing" noise. I'm pretty sure it's not the turbo as I have checked all the hoses and there appears to be no air gaps or holes in the rubber. The noise happens when the car has been running for a while and I take off from a set of lights or when I'm going down mount ooslie in 2nd. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone tell me what it is?

Check all the pulley bearings. Take the belt off and spin by hand, check the bearing roughness. Have a look at the belt too.

Was thinking that was a possibility but going down a hill in 2 nd?
If manual, possible spigot , or thrust bearing, was my thinking
All these suggestions are worth a look
Can you get it to squeal when stationary?

If your foot is off the clutch and the noise is present it can't be the spigot bearing.
If it was the thrust bearing it would usually get louder when the clutch pedal was pushed.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Sorry forgot to mention it's an auto. I can't get it to make the noise whilst stationary.

Yep , aware of that , but have seen some resting their foot on the clutch
lightly and in a couple of cases that's where the squeal was coming from.
Anyhow , Pedro has a good suggestion .
