Do you see the front and rear prop shafts turning? Does your D2 have a manual difflock? I'm wondering if a broken half shaft or CV would cause loss of drive.
Hi , was traveling Sydney to Melbourne down the Hume at 100kph ,suddenly lost traction at Wangaratta. Checked transfer gear position is okay, front and rear drive shafts okay , no oil leaks , engine okay , no warning lights ,experienced no noise or vibration prior to lost of traction ,has anybody experienced this event ? possible causes ? would appreciated some thoughts. traction control ???? Mike

Or sheered mainshaft on the gear box .
Try in gear with engine running and get someone carefully to look under the car and if a tailshaft is rotating with no drive that tail shaft is pointing to the trouble
LOL,
Lost Traction? You mean drive. I was waiting to see a massive powerful TD5 entered in a Summer Nats burn out competition.
Happy Days
Not the infamous stripped output shaft in the gearbox by any chance?

So if you put it in gear, get out and look underneath, do you see the tail shafts turning?
Try to identify if the problem is after the transfer box or before.
