Injectors and glow plugs will have to be removed.
Tag each injector so they go back in the same location(saves playing in the ECU to set the codes).
    Leave the valves.
I'd change the manifold studs and check the screw in water jacket plug is tight while you are doing it.

When I had a head done they measured the face to valve clearance and set them the same after the surface grind was done.
    Cheers, Kyle

so iv striped the head just left the valves in, that's going to the head shop in the morning, it had steel dowels and the gasket is a 3 hole one, the valves on port 2,3,4,have gone rusty so must be leaking because 1,5 are clean ,the head gasket looked ok but the2 centre head bolts where not as tight as the rest just hope its not cracked !it only took me 4 hours to get the head off pretty good for me I think

td5 valve regrind set | eBay

    Or try roverlord
Good news with the head , might be worth replacing the fuel cooler o rings with Viton while the heads off, you'll need head bolts and timing pins ( cheap enough on fleabay), is the oil cooler OK?.
