From what I can gather, the NNN means it can be re-mapped. The Nanocom will work with the other ECU's, you just can't use it to download new maps if not a NNN.
Hi, I have a 2003 D2a TD5 auto. Looking to purchase a Nanocom and was expecting to find the ecu would have a NNN prefix. The seller informed me the Nanocom One 2.08 unit will only work with prefix NNN ecu's but mine is a NNW501200. Will the Nanocom work with mine, do I need to replace my ecu with a NNN prefix one, is the NNW501200 flash programmable at all, if so with what unit??? Any advice/guidance greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Graeme.

Hi ,welcome , NNW 501200 is basically a part number for the nnn ecu , so flash programmable, buy yourself a nanocom and a tune and it will work.
If you have a look at the other end of the ecu it should read nnn ..............
Thanks heaps for the help. Will get the Nanocom and give it a try. He said I already has two additional maps on it. Thanks, again.
NNW...... is the assembly number of the ECU, NNN...... is the part number, if you watch the attached list you'll see the difference(disregard the EU2 fuel maps see just the assembly numbers), it seems that NNW501200 is not from a NNN ECU cos it can be MSB ECU with NNW assy number, i've seen it... see the description of that ended listing, they say that NNW501200 is removed from an early Td5 and it's not flashable http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300893049850

2003 Disco should have a flashable unit...
As original yes, provided it wasnt replaced with an older remapped one at a point, for the OP, what's the VIN of your car?
