    Right nearly there the A clutch pack is in a little bit of patience is required as as there is two clutch packs and a spline to line up pays to get the plates as near lined up using a small screw driver, now have fitted the two nylon seals these replace the steel seals, my clutch plates in the A pack were badly worn 90 percent, the B pack was about 60 percent the rest were in good condition mostly it has been the mechanical failures of the sparg clutch and of course the oil pump was the show stopper.

    I've read bad things about the spargs,, inverting???
    any mechanical reason pack A was stuffed?

    A clutch pack was just worn, a lot of wear on the outer part of the sprag clutch there are two parts controlled by two clutch packs, currently chasing a thinner thrust washer that sits between the back of the oil pump and A clutch pack with the choice of 2 washers the clearance came in at .08mm should be .2 to .4mm clearance.

    There is a choice of 14 different thicknesses so now chasing this up from motor specs they have a big warehouse in Sydney and branches throughout Aussie.

    Now starting on the valve bank start laying out the bolts and components of valve bank. I have photo copies of valve banks to tape the discs and balls to the correct place the disc are important as they either face up or down and have different size holes.

    image.jpgTwo of the accumulators or discs on my photo copy will do one at a time and use a small amount of rubber grease to hold these in on assembly.

    Do one at a time! Take note of springs and where they came from along with the valves very important not to stuff this part up take photos on the phone helps to keep track.

    Lots of valve and springs a bit of crud to clean out some of the valves were a bastard to get out ran the valve under hot water to expand the valve body then gently tapped on side of body this seemed to work.

    Starting now on the solenoid valve banks also doing the mod on one of the valve bodies just adding another Spring. Also will fit the solenoids off the BMW trans. None of the valve bodies are a straight swap due to different Spring rates in the valve bodies, everything is now freed up in my valves and every thing is moving freely.

    This is under the steel plate and with the crud cleaned out also there are four different paper gaskets so keep the old one as sample the kit came with the four gaskets now to bolt it all up and fit to trans
