What to look for when buying a D2?

Hi guys, got a lead on a two owner D2 2000 ES7 model that I want to check out- I am in Victoria car is not, so researching all I can before jumping on a plane to inspect it (and hopefully drive it home!)

Car has around 150,000klm on the clock and is a V8 auto. Looks to have been serviced by a Land Rover workshop with books and has had very little use recently, obviously a 7 seater and SLS, not sure on ACE yet - have asked the seller that question, Leather trim, sunroofs premium sound roof racks etc

Anything in particular I need to check out before committing?
Many thanks and hopefully shortly I will have my first Discovery!

without looking at all those links
How about just a few common V8 highlights?

    Cooling
    Oil leaks

Climb underneath with a torch and check for (should be pink) coolant stains at the front of the motor, now shimmy all the way back and shine the torch at the back of the engine block where it meets the gearbox, look for oil.

    what does this mean?
not a lot,, maybe some dollars off the purchase price.

I'd try and drive as many as possible before looking at one you are actually interested in.

If you are planning on extensive touring consider a diesel for the touring range. And the life of a well maintained TD5 exceeds a V8.

    I agree about this ^
    That said.
Plenty on here have long lives and many touring KMs on the V8s.

You will get plenty of pointers on here, but make sure you don't forget the little things as a few small parts add up to a lot of $$$

    Electric windows all work fully
    Door locks all lock/unlock
    Engine mounts are ok
Push all the buttons you can find
Take a torch and look everywhere
    Check for any damp carpet
    Driveshafts

All good points to drive the price down.
