Centre spigot dia on a Steelie is very close to the Alloy so you would need to machine it out...
They are well inside the scope for a van of your mass..
Can anyone give me any info on D2 steel rims carrying capacity etc? I know they are not the prettiest, but a coat of matching paint might improve them.
Depending on their strength compared to alloys, I'm looking for a set of 5 preferably 8 x 16 if such exists, or at least 7 x 16 for a 3.5T tandem caravan.
I can't use D2 alloys because the centre hole is too small and I prefer not to go to Toyo type if possible, despite ease for eventual selling.
If suitable and available I'd like to source ex Melbourne.

Ta - so the D2 steelies must have a much smaller centre hole than the RRC/D1! I need about a 95mm diameter central hole.

I have a spare d2 steel rim in the garage after I upgraded the trailer so will measure the spigot hole diameter and report, in the next day or so. It is larger than the alloy hole but I can't recall by how much.
If the d2 steel rim doesn't fit then all is not lost as the d2 and VE/F commodore have exactly the same stud pcd and stud diameter/ thread pitch. So you should be able to find a rim that suits.
I'll dig up exact specs inc offset as well.

I think you should measure the hubs Gavin![]()
Even parallel bearing alko hubs don't have a 95mm spigot...
Factory D2 steels have a centre hole about 1mm oversize to the D2 spigot, dynamic rims are about 10mm oversize (5mm around), but in my experience dynamics are a weak rim and hold beads about as well as a split/straight sided rim...
Agreed Tombie. I should have spelt that out in more detail. My thinking was that there may be a third party rim which would meet the weight specs and also have similar offset.
Gavin, I measure the id of the spigot hole as 70mm for the d2 steel rim I have. Another thing to remember if you end up using d2 rims is to also get land rover wheel nuts as they have a significantly larger taper face than the standard m14x1.5 nuts commonly supplied by trailer parts companies and properly match the rim.

My Dynamic D2 steel rims are:
16X7
120X5 PCD (I'm pretty sure)
1400kg each
-20mm offset (I think)
70mm diameter hole in the centre (just measured it for you)
Standard d2 rims have an offset of 57mm.
I'd be surprised if the dynamics are a negative offset, that's a huge change from standard.
