Brake controller and factory tow wiring

    Hi,
I need to fit an electric brake controller (Tekonsha Primus). I already previously sourced a LR towing loom with a flat pin adaptor, which just plugged in and worked well, but am unsure if I can wire the brake controller through that (via blue pin) or if I have to replace with a new plug, if so what?
Obviously I want to find the easiest route to having the ability to tow an electric brake trailer.
Also, if I am doing this, is it worth the extra effort to look at a power plug (Ansderson?) for the trailer? I don't require it just yet, but I would like to future proof if possible.

    many thanks.

I successfully ran the wire into the 7pin and also added a similar earth.
I used8GA wire so this stretched the rubber sealing sleeve somewhat, but a bit of sealant fixed that.
