    Choosing front brake pads

Time has come to replace my front rotors, and pads.

I'll be going with the DBA T3 rotors, but what pads?

First choice was Bendix, they seemed to get good reviews on here. But then I started reading good things about Akebono pads on the D3/D4/RRS section.

So has anyone used the Akebono pads on the front of a D2, and what were/are they like? Even better if you've had Bendix pads to compare with.

    Thanks

Based on all those replies, it looks like I might be the guinea pig...

I went with factory Land Rover pads as i didn't have an issue before. I tried 2 different types of Bendix on my 2004 BA Falcon and they were no good. I put Ford Factory pads on that too and they were much better.

That is my 2 cents for what it is worth.

I have never found the D2 lacking when it comes to stock brakes. The D3 on the other hand feels like it is being pushed along by the extra weight and takes a lot more effort to pull up as quickly as the D2. I can see why D3 owners look for upgrades, but never felt it was needed with the D2.

The reason behind looking at the DBA T3 rotors and Bendix/Akebono pads isn't in the first place to get better brakes.

More my D2 needs new rotors & pads, and I can get the DBA T3 rotors cheaper than the DBA T2's and LR rotors. The price of the Bendix/Akebono pads is also slightly less than the LR pads.

DBA slotted rotors, don't bother with the cross drilled or dimpled. Pretty sure the T3s are the ones you want
And yes, Akenbono pads are excellent. Pretty sure Tombie runs them on his old d2. Supposed to be very quiet, super low dust and virtually no fade.
Give them a go, or I'll beat you to it (not likely )

I'm running thermoquiet all round, no shims, no dust, fit well and cheaper than many. Even less pedal effort!
