Assuming it is leaking externally... probably yes.

    Which motor is it Laurie?

BTW, I'll move this into the D2 area for you where you are likely to get more specific advice on the problem..

    Laurie,welcome aboard.
More info needed,ie roughly where the leak is on the engine as there are a few common leaks. There is a hose behind the turbo you cant see, heat kills it.Oring seals on the fuel cooler(opposite side to turbo) are common and cheap to fix.Simply buy the O rings,a repairer may want to sell you a new fuel cooler at a stupid cost.
This thread will get shifted to the D2 area,we will leave a re-direct for you so you can find it
    ENJOY.

I've had such undetectable leak once, it leaked only with warm engine and evaporated, couldn't find it without this kit UV Dye & UV Torch Kit Leak Detection Dye For Cooling Antifreeze System RLD2 Ring | eBay , mine was under the webasto FBH which is not the case for Australia

Hi Laurie, you really need to diagnose the problem first , changing hoses will help only if they're leaking or soft , if they are soft and you have oily residue in the radiator expansion tank , then you may have an oil cooler leak , this can happen when the car has old/bad/incorrect coolant for a while . As for coolant leaks , check fuel cooler o rings ( fuel cooler is bolted to the intake manifold ) . is there a stain on the rh engine mount?. Also check the little hose into the oil cooler behind the turbo , check also for wet carpets . If all good check to see if the cooling system is pressurising when cold ,,this can indicate head gasket , which is another reason behind a hard to find coolant loss. Let us all know how you get on, cheers

Looking at this from a different angle, before you start pulling your cooling system to bits are you sure it's not evaporated water from the air conditioning or leaking washer fluid ?

Generally speaking your Td5 coolant should be coloured, ie. pink. Makes it easy to distinguish from other water sources.

If youre running red coolant, put a bit of blue cellophane over the end of a torch and check at night the coolant tends to glow in the dark and leaks are easy to spot.
