    coolant bleed screw O ring

I have the slightest weep from the top of the coolant bleed screw. Any idea what size the O ring is and where I can get one from?

Hi, if you have an o-ring there it means it was retrofitted cos there was a leak before, there's no o-ring there from factory, usually the thread wears out and it leaks through it, you can improvise and use some rubber to metal adhesive bond and fit something like this Cast Iron Radiator - Bleed Valve / Vent 1/8" Chrome Auto | eBay in the top hose instead of the original fittment, i did it and it works.

Well what do you know. It wasn't the O ring it was a hairline fracture in the plastic T peace where the bleed screw threads in.

I must have over tightened the bleed screw at some point and broken it.

It looks like I can only buy the complete 3 hose set. As I'd like to save coolant and the other hoses are in good condition can I just remove the centre T piece from the new set and replace that?

I don't think so, and I wouldn't. Consequences for it going can be sort of severe.

I had a similar thing happen a few years ago, which I discovered about 400k north of Alice Springs. Wrapped it up in about 2m of rescue tape, and it managed to hold until I could change it at the camp site at Uluru. Bloody nervous 700km drive, though.

Replace it & put in a low coolant alarm if you don't already have one.
