    TD5 Oil seep near turbo

    Hi all,

Anyone have any ideas what oil leeaking out of the ?intercooler hose means?

The oil inlet & outlet lines look fine.

    Another view

Additionally there seems to be oil leaking out of the hose that runs from the top of the motor to the air inlet before the turbo. Could it be related?

Anyone know the name of the braided hose, it looks like it needs replacing.

    Any thoughts appreciated!

    TD5 Oil seep near turbo

I think a little bit in there is normal from my experience (which is little) with my old Ford back in the states. Always has a little bit of a weep but always ran fine.

Turbo bearing seals or engine blowby!
Remove turbo inlet hose and check the impeller.

Braided hose is engine breather pipe. Puts engine oil fumes into inlet as part of emissions control. Hence oil in pipe. Turbo isn't blown. But too much oil can indicate an issue.

    Hi Akula,
If you want to see what leaking looks like I can send you a picture of the cross shaft in my transfer case and my carport. Agree with Justin C looks pretty normal, was down with an environmentally free degreaser and check again in a month.

    Cheers Marty
