Yes, I am happy enough, at 380k km the head was overdue for attention, tyres needed, headlining, seats a bit tatty, etc.
I would buy another D2, certainly any replacement will be Landrover.

When I had a Volvo that some idiot wrote off, AAMI called me when the car was ready for me to go and get my 'personal belongings' from it. Car was parked undercover and they gave me more than ample time to remove, the driving lights, battery and anything else I could unbolt! They didn't seem to care.

Probably worth checking with your future insurer that you have this right!
    Cheers

That's interesting to know, They don't mention that in the policy.
Anyway I got most of the stuff off, only left the ecu and snorkel.
    And the snorkel got flattened.

Of course the other side of the story is if there not listed on the policy then the wont be covered or repaired if they are damaged and the car is not a write off.

Never bothered me in the past. D2 is the only vehicle I have not repaired myself. Series Landrovers are good for owner repairs. I suppose any post 2000 replacement will have to be fully covered. That's if RACV will still talk to me.... this is the 3rd roo strike in 4 years.

You need a Bull bar! I would hate to think how many roos have been under our vehicle. It was cow that wrote ours off. Come to think of it I need to get a bar for the D2.

Insurance is a form of gambling. Thus i dont and will never be part of it.

One of the first things i got for my car was a bullbar.
Because i live around heaps of the grey buggers.
You plan on doing that with your new vehicle?

Sorry to see your car is done for. Im surprised it got written off.
Which i assume it has given they have taken it and payed you out.

Try go to the auctions and pick it up cheap?

Not having insurance is a form of gambling.

Did consider a bull bar for a while, but the cost was going to be 4x cost of insurance.

Also not too sure about hanging a bull bar off the crush cans, the last 2 hits would have pushed the bar into the bodywork anyway.

Defender has one, bolted to chassis, no crush cans there. have had one roo bounce off it
