Talking Td5 upgrades finished, but please help.

    Hi all

So I have just done the last mod to my td5 that I wanted and its an Allisport upgraded intercooler.
The car has already got upgraded ECU chip, straight through exhaust, transmission cooler, exhaust manifold upgrade & EGR bypass. And Ive also just purchased a nanocom evolution.

Do I need to reprogram the ecu because of the intercoolers new power increase? I'm definetely a rookie here.

    Any help would be great

    cheers

You shouldn't.... It should make adjustments automatically.

Just make sure your wastegate is adjusted correctly - ie backed off just, from ECU fuel cutoff due to overboost.
    Cheers

thanks simon. Sorry to ask but how do I do that? the waste gate is above the turbo? BTW I'm at coffs harbour and found some great tracks, my new disco handles it all so well super stoked! I did notice that after installing the intercooler that my acceleration didnt seem to be as quick and responsive. srtill flies once it kicks in just lags a little more now... I that to do with the waste gate ? thanks for ur help.

The rod to the wastegate should be shortened , 10 mm lock nut , and a knurled nut , hold the knurled nut and cage with multi grips while you undo the lock but, I usually mark the knurled but with a paint pen .back the lock but off and go in the same direction with the other one , you can probably start by going 2 turns shorter , set your nanocom on instrument mode and go for a drive , cruise on around 2000 rpm , then floor it , nano com should read around 1.35 bar on the initial spike , when you go past 1.39 you've gone too far and will go into over boost.
    Enjoy

This only works if you are at sea level, the instrument mode boost level will change depending on outside atmospheric pressure. I know this because I made the same mistake!!

Go to engine, then fuel settings and you can find the actual boost pressure in there, which will not be affected by outside pressure, the number you are looking for is under 245kpa which is the point overboost kicks in.

Make sure all other sensors are correctly functioning before you increase boost though

awesome! thanks guys I'll head out and try ur suggestions this morning. I'm at coffs harbour so at sea level and will try playing with the wastegate and nanocom first.
Went for an epic 4wd session last night. disco's are such beasts when modded

No worries - you are still best off using the pressure as indicated in the fuel settings section, they give you true readings and if you want to get as close as possible they are the only way I would go.
