    2002 D2 a/c fault - ideas?

The a/c chills beautifully, however the fan is either full off or full on - no low or medium speed. This seems to be the case in auto and manual...
    Any ideas??

Yes, classic symptom of power tranzistor failure, or find known good second hand unit or replace only the tranzistor, you need a Toshiba 2SD1460 or some direct cross interchange
... the part number of the complete unit is JGN100010 if you want simply just pay the money for it...though it's too expensive for what it is IMO as long as the transitor is http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOSHIBA-2SD1...-/361226397754 , if you magnify the image you can see the tranzistor here Switch Assy - Air Conditioning - Genuine Land Rover at www.rimmerbros.co.uk , it must be replaced with a good one

And, you are very correct about the price difference...... I think I will be dusting off the solder sucker and soldering iron!!

Autumn???... AFAIK it's spring around here, remove the glovebox and you'll see the alloy cooler there near the blower marked 858
