    New rear rotors and pads

Any suggestions on best rotors and pads for the rest of my disco? Are the slotted rotors worth using or just stick with the standard type?

    Cheers

I like standard DBA but with EBC Blackstuff pads front. I have had a few combos in 13 years on d2 and a bit longer with d1 and they are gr8. Great feel and bite. They stopped doing Blackstuff for rear. I will post up what i did for the rear recently...good though...similar composition to EBC

I will dig out my records

    Cheers

Sure did all around . Mine were for a mate a bit of research and developing that has his own slotting and brake buisness in melb .
First impressions with T/C and Hdc were the best ever and the braking effort was so much better

I've been considering slotted rotors for a while, but as i go 4WDing a lot i'm not interested in cross drilled rotors (Don't want them to fill up with mud). I've struggled to find slotted but not cross drilled rotors.

No doubt they would be good.

I tend to use the factory pads in my cars. They just seem to give the best result even though they are expensive.

EBC and Dba do slotted and not cross drilled. I've tried them both and really like the Dba ones.

For pads I wasn't happy with the current EBC range. Bendix however have been good.

As an aside, I've just looked at the EBD catalogue and we don't get the good parts here. US do, and I suspect the 4000 series pads which appear to be available to them would probably be good!

Haha...funny...i didnt like Bendix and liked EBC. Just shows we all have different views. The one thing EBC now do is squell a bit if you have been doing a lot of light braking...not much and doesnt worry me given the feel and bite. I have always thought i would prefer not to have slotted in sand etc but i havent seen anyone on here saying that they have had problems. They would tend to cool quicker but having said that i regularly tow a just under 2 tonn boat with override single axle brakes with no brake fade.

    Cheers

I've found slotted to be fine when offroad in mud, sand etc. Probably the real problem is mud which blocks the ventilation in the rotor. I haven't found a solution for this though.
