Simple - Fridge Slider and Custom Drawers for D2

After many months of wanting to get it done, I co-opted a friends help (he is smarter than me and has better tools) and we put together a simple inexpensive but robust drawer slider concept.

For the sliders I just bought 2 * 800mm, 90 kg King Sliders from Bunnings, the rest of the drawers are a combination of 12mm and 18mm Ply.

I removed the RH Side bin, as this is where the Dual Battery will go, I also cut out some of the bin to make more space for the battery.

    Steps 1
12mm Ply false floor, cut to shape and extends into the RH side bin area - the false floor is mounted to the 4 holes for the OEM LR tie down points.
Mounted sliders on the LH Side with 50mm steel angle and a laminated wall of 12mm and 188mm ply.
The slider floor is then made up of 3 12mm ply cross pieces with holes cut out as positive recesses for the feet of the fridge.

On the RH Side a "box" was made with 12mm ply extending across the Dual battery into the bin. Inside the box go 2 plastic tubs, I posted to go for tubs as these can then be totally removed to make easy access to what is stored in there, also it is lighter and cheaper.

I then replaced the rear door panel with ply, and made a simple table for "side of the road" coffee making that comes off the rear of the door.

I have attached photo's below, and now over the next few weekends will be doing the finishing touches of carpeting, edging, varnishing etc.

But I am very happy - thanks Adam for the help!

    Nice and simple.

My old man was making draws for the back of his Cruisers/Pajeros/Rangies before draws in the back of cars were even thought of. All his were made nice and simply with Ply and finished in varnish, I pretty sure hes still got most of them stashed away under the house some 30 odd years later.

    Hi

Nope they do not have a built-in lock, but I have already thought of a few options.
Strong Rubber Strap attached to the Cargo Barrier and the fridge handle
Simple swivel catch made from steel

And then to stop any travel while driving (pulling off) I will be putting rubber stoppers on the inner panel that takes up any slack with some positive pressure on the runner.
