Unhappy ABS and Handbrake light on

About a week ago my ABS light and Handbrake light came on. After stopping the car and turning it off and back on, they disappeared. Then a couple of days ago they came back on. I have been to see my local LR specialist (Sovereign) and they hooked it up and found out that the problem comes from 'PUMP FAILURE 1 (Monitor Line)'. They said its to do with the ABS Motor pump.

I have tried to look for fixes but couldn't see any. Does anyone have any ideas or could point me in the right direction?

Oh and my car is a 2002 TD5

The pump itself is not monitored, that fault code is triggered by faulty pump relay(R10 engine bay fusebox) or it's circuit, swap the relay with R8(heeted screen) or R6(glow plugs for test)

Are the TC and HDC warnings working on ignition self test?

I tried switching them around and I got nothing.

As for the tc and hdc lights they don't come on during the in ignition test sequence.

This issue needs serious investigation then, the fact that you dont have the TC and HDC lights working is bad news as well, i'm sure they should be on together with the other two cos the red brake warning is part of the so called 3 amigos ... a dedicated tester has the ability to chek the pump operation by activating it for test also to verify if the HDC and TC warnings are disabled or not.

what you can do is to make sure that fusible link FL11 in engine bay fusebox is good then remove the relay(R10) and put a bridge instead terminals 30-87(contact) and listen carefully if the pump in the modulator is buzzing or not, or unplug the pump(C0507- round two wire usually white plug attached to the modulator) and measure for voltage in it with bridged relay to check the circuit...fi you didnt hear the pump at all but you get voltage only then you can blame the pump

if you PM me your mobile I can read the codes for you, I'm only up the way in Golden Grove.
I've also dealt with a few 3 amigo issues on the previous rover.

as long as you don't get SVS related fault codes it's not necessary, ... you can do it to prevent that though... first of all figure out why the TC and HDC lights are not working, if you get to nanocom make sure they are not disabled in BCU settings cos the LED's are quite unlikely to be gone and the warning lamps self check is managed by the instrument pack without SLABS involvment at first stage

So looks like the lights were disabled.

We did the usual thing on LR's which was disconnect the pump and reconnect it and reset the fault and no more lights on even after a drive or 2.

Sorry, my english seems to not be good enough to understand that it's fixed now or not, please confirm it's ok now just for peace of my mind.... and if it is tell to those schmucks who wanted to make you replace the modulator that they are full of sh*t
