Yep. That's why I seconded. beeutey and I don't see eye to eye on many things, but I have nothing but respect for him, and Crafers is a stone's throw from Mt Barker. win win.

I think his post was a few years back when I first started this thread?

Funny, most post's i've seen here have been 25/02/2020. did i miss something? I'm sure he's still in Crafers.

OK, I did miss something, as this thread popped up a couple of days ago. I wasn't alone....

I had a similar problem with a patrol, replaced almost everything in front & rear bushes, then put a new steering dampner on and all fixed just my experience

Will probably need to do this too. Dampner was done a little while back already so that is a plus

Not fixed - masked... A dampener is only there to take kickback out of the equation. On level, relatively smooth roads it shouldn’t be happening.

Root cause will be one of the following:
    Bushes or swivel bearing/bushes/pre-load
    Bent or Broken components.

D2s don't have the swivel setup.
So ball joints, other bushes etc.

Well, a lot of the issues have settled with new engine mounts! Awful vibrations are gone, is wandering a lot less on the road. Is still the noise when turn the wheel though. And a clicking when "coasting"
Getting there slowly! Cannot believe how quiet and smooth it is with the new mounts badly wandering steering help my poor car
