I emailed Wholesale Automatic Transmissions down in Vic about a suitable upgrade to the HP22EH,,
It all sounds wonderfull,, not sure exactly what bits they change. If nothing else its a reputable starting point.
or we could all just queue up at Stevo's

We can certainly build your transmission to have the later model internals as this is now a common practice. If you send your transmission to me I can send you a Fully Reconditioned Heavy Duty Extreme Transmission pre-fitted with Heavy Duty Nomad valve body for $4750 inc gst + Plus freight as required.

Is that for the D2/ D2A Pedro?

A and B in Dandenong quoted me $4000 for a rebuild but not necessarily HD or and HD valve body.

I think the valve bodies may be the cause of most D2/D2a problems rather tha the clutch packs etc ,no?

You could try Ron Hill Automatics in Maroochydore. My D2 has one supplied & fitted through MR Auto. All good so far after 20k km.

Hmm, I get all my work done at Liberty Mech which is right across the road,, so ( 6 months ago)offs I trot to Ron Hill. Pommy guy on counter said "we just rebuild to ZF specs". when I asked about 24 bits he basically said Go Away. They are a long term Coast business.

The valve bodies seem to trouble the 5 speed RR's more than us,,
there must be a reason he replaces then in ours though

. I think its a good idea. I'd just like to know why,,

I replied to Rodney and asked how many Nm it was good for,, and he basically said they'd never had anyone with enough grunt to break one.......

Clutch packs when they get hot enough to trigger the dash light. Once it starts it continues to break down until the box fails.

and I actually think if you did break one, he'd be happy to improve his product.
