The 150mm 19mm brass rod arrived. Now to use the lathe at work to make a brass wheel for the drivers side regulator.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

Realised another thing I love about Gary

Driving the Mitsubishi Outlander work car today and had a happy pang of missing the Discovery 2.

The window door sill is at exactly the right height for comfortably resting ones elbow whilst driving. For me anyways.

    Not so in the Mitsubishi.

Got it back from service. New oils, new filters, new drivers side hub seal, new rear diff pinion seal, new key fob batteries, new wiper blades, cleaned out intercooler and hoses, etc, etc. Ordered a Tom Woods front drive shaft - the current one is over 370k km old (to the best of my knowledge) and is stuffed. I mean REALLY stuffed. I'll post pics and/or video of it when I get the old one out of the car. All I now need to do is to replace the hose between the coolant pump and the bit of metal coolant pipe under the radiator.

I got one and tried to thin it a bit and I broke it. As for the flat slider, lathing the part is easier, especially when the mechanical engineer at work has offered to produce a couple of them.

Good to see the the education dept funding Land Rover development and our taxes are being put to good use is it going to be made with a threaded shank?
