I'm learning all about TD5's and Disco's, I've only been driving it a month....

Popped underneath to adjust the handbrake shoes to reduce the rattle until I have time to do a permanent fix and noticed coolant on the front diff.

Yep, the fuel cooler is leaking.

Ran the grease gun over it while I was there, one nipple is missing so will have to replace that, the uni's have been replaced but don't know if they are HD GKN ones or standard 1300 Series Spicer uni's, and replaced the rear wiper blade which had shrivelled up after the fuel hose did such a good job of rust proofing underneath and the back of the car.

I was going to replace the front pads but they can wait a few more weeks. The pads are are at that 3-4mm replacement point, and feeling the lip on the discs they are at or below minimum but they can wait. (yep, call me caliper fingers )

Thanks to Strangy I don't need to buy pads, which is an absolute bonus!

Just drove it here and there this weekend as I have a work
Odd oil drop still so still has oil in it hahaha
Noticed ac when flat chat feels like a hum (on/off noise) no change in rpm and only at idle! Is this normal as I don't think I've noticed it before but haven't really paid attention

Front passenger window decided to only go down a couple of cm's and refused to go back up.
Took door card off and found bits of some sort of plastic roller in the bottom of the door. Managed to get the window up - disconnected the window switch. Need to do some research on how to to take it apart and fix it.

chasing a "sounds like' exhaust leak,,
only under load,, and not loud, and not um,, close?
I found my 12 point 12mm socket has departed to greener pastures,, so could only check top exhaust manifold nuts with ring spanner,,
and all ok,, and all the flange nuts were good,, and both lower joins showed no black marks,,
it does sound back there somewhere--
also checked front pads and discs,, none of them low enough to warrant the top up I had to do last week,,
not sure the backs get used enough to be concerned,,
    maybe a job for Wattlemere

Apparently the rears wear faster than the fronts, much the same as the Deefer,
This one is on original front pads but the rears were replaced a while ago.

Re the exhaust leak, it's not a lift tick, is it ? Unless it's further along the system ?

Brisbane to Bundy towing 2tonne van and I still have 40L left in the tank - LR tank and TD5 Econ for the win. Also figured out how to lockup in 3rd below 70km/h. 3200rpm and a heap of throttle. I don't recommend it towing though, it did it at 60 and with my tyres rpm dropped to 1800. loving the Madman EMS, drive by EGTs is essential for towing
