Yeah same here. Factory tank with mild lift, tyres, and roof racks w annex. I avg about 600 km from a full tank mostly peak hour traffic through mild hills.

...and then Mrs ScotchRocks-to-be went to drive Gary for the first time... And the rear view mirror came off the windscreen in her hand as she went to adjust it.
An ill omen, perhaps?
C-6100 ratio unit works great though. Only hard part of install was crimping connectors in the passenger footwell with minimal wire length and manoeuvring room.
Need to tinker a bit with the settings, gone from 10% under-read to 5% over read.
Switches on 10011010 at 0.8974 ratio on new 265/70R16 Falken Wildpeak AT02 at the moment if that helps anyone.
Will try 0.9301 (01101010) next methinks and should be about spot on.

Tonight's camp , Carmila Beach , south of Mackay.
Fitted the tap to the Provent drain tube and swapped over the rims from M/T to A/T. The A/T for the snow chains.
swapped tyres front to back.
Lost 4.5ltrs of engine oil after the vac pump s**t itself and pushed oil out the vac tube.
Thank goodness I just caught it in time after pulling into Mcdonalds drive thru, went to hit the brakes and kept on going 5 meters past the window[bigsad].
Another few Kms of driving down the Hume I would have blown a freshly rebuilt motor.
Think I need to in stall an oil alarm!!

Drive to work last night & noticed that my temp gauge (which normally never moves from 1/2) was only reading on lower 1/4 of the gauge. Checked water - ok. Drove home this morning same thing except driving up the expressway hill when it rose to the 1/2 way mark as normal. Just over the hill it dropped down to 1/4 again.
Do I need a new thermostat? If so should I buy anything else as well? Never changed a Land Rover thermostat.
It does sound like your thermostat is locked in the open position.Quote:

They are a pain to replace as the hose clamps are awkward to get at to undo/refit and as the thermostat comes in a new plastic sealed unit they are expensive as far as thermostats go as well, Good luck :)
Unfortunately not all replacement thermostats are well built. Consider genuine or inline mod. Even better chase up Mark Adams at Tornado Chip for his new jobbie...Cheers
Before you do that, pull the connector off the temperature sensor and give it a spray with contact cleaner or just remove and replace a few times.
