quickly spoke to mechanic this morning, i'm still a bit confused but the short of it is: the compressor wasn't being controlled by the ECM. it had been reconfigured to run directly off the econ button. was never an issue as it never froze up.
The ECM does require CAS. as it disengages a zero rpm, for easier starting. (and apparently it also disengaged at above 75% throttle or there abouts)
Sorry Eevo RAVE/circuit/ECU function doesn't agree with that at all.
I suspect the info you're getting is based on the LS ECU.
As before hook it up right and it will work as advertised.
The only thing to consider them will be the input for the LS ECU for idle up.
feel free to call my mechanic :)
he's going by the wiring diagram.
i agree with you, nothing in the rave that i can see, but i trust his experience. he's got me this far.
other things fixed - watts linkage bushes replaced
things still to do:
squeaky belt. i swear i fixed that last month
funny rattle while decelerating but only with the clutch engaged
wheel alignment
For a while now ,l have had a weird kinda rattly noise somewhere underneath , only when under load , up hill.
Not drastic , just noticeable
It was more apparent, if a car was driving next to me and I had the window down
The D2 was in for a new rear door lock actuator yesterday and I asked the mech to check out the rattle
He put it down to handbrake shoes having worn a bit of a groove in the drum and them sitting a bit loose in there whilst not engaged
He adjusted it up a few clicks and hey presto , noise gone
I know you cant adjust them up too much or you get that grabbing thing
So this is just a heads up if anyone else has the same weird rattle
I replaced all the locking wheel nuts with a set I bought from Roverlord today and fixed a slow leak in one of the tyres.
I have done over 50K on the Yokohama's and this is the first puncture (Tech screw) so I now have the repaired tyre as a spare.
