Fitting the oil supply pipe for the vacuum pump and repacking the tensioner pulley bearing today, note the double crimp the hose doctor did not sure if they all do it this way, at 1/4 of the new pipe price I'm not complaining.

The HSE picked up the manual conversion wreck today - will be wrecking the remains of the vehicle that I do not need (no motor)

Well here I am, back in the land of D2's, a definite Land Rover tragic [bigrolf], and my 9th Land Rover. :o
Today's exercise was fixing the 3 amigo's which came with the vehicle at no extra charge along with 046 Front left sensor o/p low, a 'shuttle valve repair kit' and a nifty little ABS Amigo dongle.

The supplied shuttle valve repair kit came with a pre modified genuine shuttle valve, an additional plug and instructions which made the 'upgrade' quite easy (no cut wires) and gave a very IMO professional finish. The shuttle valve I replaced was not faulty but I installed the new one anyway. :)
No more 3 Amigo's and no more ABS LH ABS sensor fault (though I did remove and clean the sensor).
Deano :)
After a very successful trip to Birdsville and back via Old Strzelecki Track, Walkers Crossing and the length of the Birdsville Track I decided today was the day to de-dust the interior. Bloody Hell. Despite gaffer tape covering the two vents at the back and a few other pieces stuck over likely looking spots I still managed to collect about a cup of red dirt from the interior without being fussy about getting every last grain (impossible I reckon). I swear that stuff could get into a sealed (corked) wine bottle.... That's a LOT of very finely coated surfaces.
Apart from a few of punctures, two car and one camper, in 4,500km of towing a 1.8t camper nothing went wrong and no fluids of any type were used or leaked. In fact if my wife said "let's take off to somewhere tomorrow" I'd take off again without needing to do anything to the car.
Today:
- Sanded back all 4 wheel arch flares and test sprayed one set with some matte black. No more clothes catching but not that happy with the finish. Might experiment a bit further, don't think I sanded deep enough. Or a clear coat of satin varnish might fix it.
- Decided dropping the exhaust to fiddle with the selector switch to hopefully fix the 'D' not registering on dash was too hard basket.
- Wondered if that threaded hole to the left of the 3 bolt round inspection plate at the front of the bell housing (for looking at flex plate) is supposed to have something in it?
- Added 'clean underbody' to the list.
- Stripped down and cleaned second hand SLS compressor and valve block for spares.
- Made the cb cradle stick better / at all (Screws >> double sided tape)
- Removed centre console and cleaned inside, outside, over, under. Found $1.25. And a bobby pin.
- Used the old very dead / perishing black vinyl everywhere gaiters as a pattern to make new ones for handbrake and transfer shifter. Had some grey denim lying around and a big assist from the resident sewing machine expert.

The list never gets any shorter, but only 74 days to go!
The threaded hole is for a crankshaft locking pin for timing purposes and does not have anything in it otherwise.

before, duel battery system, connected to nothing.
after, triple battery system with a fridge attached
and put in 12v socket for future use and Anderson plug for trailer.
alternator voltage throughout the system is 13.3v
13.3 is not great,, even if all the batts are charged,,,
3 batts? must be a huge fridge![bigrolf]
