Always follow the enclosed instructions included with the manufacturer of the airbags, some have different valve set ups, if it says cut then cut, and inset pipe, if you fiddle with the valve etc then your warranty is void. It might also cause leaks at the valve. Don't assume anything, cover yourself by following the manufacture installation instructions for the particular brand, they put them in for a reason.
Some have paint marks for security, if the paint is broken then warranty is void. Some also have to be installed certain ways, and inflated in short bursts of the key instead of turning the key and inflating in 1 big go, and checked in stages to ensure the bag is not twisted or linked. Any marks of creasing or catching on anything whilst it is installed voids warranty.
The air bag manufacturers are really strict on warranty claims
The Dunlop manfacturered ones may have the push in collar type, The contis however may have the cut and insert type of fitting.
attacted is a pdf on the dunlop install, and there strict fitting instructions regarding chassis support etc so there is no load on the bag on installation
What happened to V8ian is a mystery, I have seen it only once before and that incidence was on a Conti airbag.
