Just sheared off one of the bolts on the turbo oil return line whilst trying to torque it up. First one was fine. Second one didn’t even feel tight, then snap. Think it’s ok to keep driving till I decide how I resolve the issue? (I don’t like Mondays...)[emoji106]
New beast developed a shake/vibration today...almost feels like a wheel balance weight is gone or something...
First port of call would be to 'triple check' the condition of the front prop shaft if it hasn't been recently attended too.
This specific part seems cause the most costly damage to a LR vehicle if left unattended for too long.
While you're under there, it'd make sense to check the rear prop shaft too.
My brother claims his TD5 has a vibration similar to having lost a wheel weight too.
I've driven the TD5 on a numerous occasions since, and have never felt any vibes at all ...
.. but I'm still going to do the front propshaft as a matter of precaution anyhow.
There have been recent threads on the kind of damage a busted front propshaft can do the transmission, and my mechanic currently has a red Td5 in his workshop with the same problem. My initial reaction when I saw the damage was ouch!
