I did over 1000K's on the last fishing trip with 300K's of heavily corrugated tracks and limestone country.
I blew a low beam globe and had to replace it, Bloody Unreliable these D2a's [bigwhistle][biggrin]

Years back I had a Rodeo ute. Was up in Wilpena, taking photos doing the usual sightseeing.
Driving for hours on end, not much break time other than stopping for photos.
I stopped at Kanyka ruins for sunset and then some starry images as night came.
At about 9-ish PM after many hours of photographing every feature I could, time to head home.
.. no lights! both dipped beams gone. Parkers ok, no headlights. a few minutes thinking, checked high beam. yep! works
Damn! mind immediately rushes to an electrical problem. Found relays and fuses .. all good .. thinking switch stuffed .. crap!
Drove about an hour with high beams on, and if an oncoming car was seen in the distance, I'd pull over let them pass and then continue on .. not wanting to blind oncoming cars.
Not a single car all the way to Pt Augusta! .. 100+ klms.
Stopped for a last milky way image, and the thought occurred .. what if both headlight globes had just blown? .. what's the chances of that? 100%. Had one spare globe, fitted and had one light.
Got to Pt Augusta late-ish maybe 11 or so, no H4 globes! [bawl]
Continued on. About 10mins out on the highway a passing car does a quick U turn .. cop!. pulls me up and doesn't like me driving with only one light. I explain to him the situation and show him the two burned globes .. he laughed and let me go and said there's a roadhouse, should be open not far down. They had one last H4 globe that I needed ..
I run my low beams all the time when travelling so they see a lot of use and the corrugations on the Useless Loop road were pretty bad.
I am surprised that the entire headlight didn't rattle out.
Drove mine 400kms in 40 degree heat. That engine mount rattle is starting to be heard over the stereo now [emoji23] Might be time to put in the replacements I've had in the shed for 12 months....
The learner driver, drove to Oceab Grove today. The external temp, according to the car fluctuated between 44 and 46C. (It's that black stuff that soaks up the heat) Air con works real well!

Replacing D2 TD5 engine mounts - how to.
I washed mine in preparation for heading back to campus tomorrow morning, didn’t do anything I said I’d do over the break [emoji23]
The short hose from the oil cooler to the pipe decided to become a steam generator, on my own with my 2yr old and 5mth old..... glad we were doing dad style shopping at the time.
Supersheep was across the car park, couple of blanking cap and new hise clamps and good to go... every time I open the bonnet more redundant stuff seems to fall out lol
Anyone know what type of 2-way radio fits the original overhead map pocket (thingy the sun visor hangs off) without modifications?
