After how many years? The nylon wheel does fail. It is cheap compared to a brass one that would last for ever.

just to add,,
a MY00 toyota avalon I drive sometimes[bighmmm] **** a rear window reg last month,,
the dealer wanted 600 just for the part, fixing is not an option as its a one piece thing,,
dealer said lots in stock as "lots" of 00 toyotas are now breaking them----
Wellllll,,, that rear had probably operated at a ten to one ratio compared to drivers window,,
so if the planned obsolescence is done via unit cycles the fronts should have been replaced quite a few times by now [thumbsupbig]
and they are still original...
Not so much planned obsolescence but more planned life expectancy.
Build to meet a certain timeline at minimum. Like engines etc..
The one of mine that failed is on the side of the car that gets the sun. The window hardly gets used compared to the drivers side.
