Hahaha, I used the winch on the old Deefer more for recovering cows outs of dams, straightening fences, pulling bull bars straight on Patrols, etc. than actual recovery work.

As I have a Nanocom, I'll power bleed the modulator and the brakes and flush out all the old brake fluid.
Disco got a service on the weekend; oil, filters, new tension pulley and drive belt....
That was the successful part....
The service and maintenance list was very long but a combination of lack of skill and time so all the other items like,
sump gasket
oil pump bolt
replace trans cooler lines
replace trans cooler
install additional trans cooler
install oil catch can
replace coolant
replace thermostat
Are still on the list.....
Oh started to remove the cross member to remove the sump and rounded off the heads of first two bolts.... that stopped that job. Yes I was using a 10mm hex socket and a long breaker bar
How do i remove a stuck rounded off bolt? Angle grinder to shape the head and vice grips or spanner or something
Sigh.....
and i stripped one of the centrifugal oil filter bolt threads...aluminium.. but its not leaking oil, so thats ok!
I am also going to buy a set of fan removal spanners... anything in front of that engine is a PIA with the fan in the way.... list never gets shorter....
Most socket manufacturers make sockets specifically for rounded off bolts, and they work.
Except when you just shear the damned thing right off! [emoji23]
