Two weeks ago on 16 Oct I said something REALLY BLOODY STUPID. I said "My D2 now leaks no fluids ..."

Today while giving it a general look over I saw that the inside of the RHS front wheel is oily. Crawled under it and I reckon it's a leaking drive shaft oil seal. Changing that could be fun...

This keeps this car consistent with all of the other Land Rovers that I've owned and with the old adage of "Land Rovers MUST Leak."

At the risk of tempting fate yet again I have to say that it's been running really well. No coolant or oil used and fuel consumption of 9.5l/100km.
    Cheers,

Also scoped out my next job after finding the source of slow coolant loss that has longtime had me baffled. Have got the 3 hoses that attach to the thermostat (thanks Mario) and although only one's weeping i will do all cos they're probably original and a liability.... so have now just gotta get in the mood to tackle the job

Nothing, but the RAVE CD arrived!

Fascinating stuff. I'm reading about how to overhaul the transfer box. Truth be known when I need one I'll most probably buy one.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

I decided to take the front pipe off my V8 today to get it welded because it had a slight leak. 3 studs each side into the manifold and 2 snap on one side and one on the other.
If it's not tight enough down there the starter motor gets in the way when trying to work. Ended up taking the manifold off on one side as I couldn't get one of the snapped studs out.
Took nearly all day to do but she's as quiet as a mouse now

My Disco got some new rear DBA T2 slotted discs to match the fronts.

I also fitted Bendix 4WD/SUV pads all round.

Wow what a difference, it has gone from great brakes to awesome brakes with less peddle pressure. :-)

Took my Disco for 14 baths along the Condamine River. Then turned around and did it again to make sure I did it right!

    Travelled to her new home

So I bought a td5 disco today, picked her up in Brisbane and drove to Mackay without any major issues.
Might be a little off topic here but this is my 1st Land Rover and I did notice the transmission was a little odd, y odd I mean it seemed kinda like a slipping clutch through 1st and 2nd (obviously not the problem being an auto) however when I changed through the gears manually it runs perfectly. Could anyone tell me if this is a usual thing or is my auto about to die

    Thanx
