Ditto for me retiring as assistant driver trainer for the Range Rover Club of NSW.Quote:
And it’s that sort of answer / training that is the reason I left clubs and stopped being a trainer/assessor.
I had a look at the driver training accreditation manual and thought that it was too formulaic and showed little common sense.

Re wiring . It really doesn't matter too much which hole in the inlet manifold you go through as long as it is long enough.
I actually think mine is in one hole too far back , but really not something to overthink.
The important bit is to make sure that the loom is free and insulated on the corners of the head at the front.

Sweet thanks yeah that's how I have done it coming up the runner with the MAP, it so must be good :P
just not sure if the wire bundle is meant to go under or over the water/fuel cooler lines up to the ECU, just want to avoid any unnecessary rubbing, seems like a bit too much tension on the wires docking into the fuse box plugs, guess I will just have to jiggle it all around some more. Just also feels like not much slack on the oil sensor side, maybe why that part of the hold harness was so trashed and broken.
Also not sure where I heard that the CAS sensor was a pain to swap? but that was easy to swap out. [bighmmm]

instead of this:

I had to do this:
Attachment 178007
It was really a no brainer as a long term solution.
Why the previous guru thought it a good idea hacking off the bead that stops the hose from popping off .. [bighmmm]
Otherwise the old rad didn't give any issues. Many bent fins and muck .. but no leaks nor overheating.
Also changed the steering box, as the output shaft seal has been weeping for a while now. The spares hulk's steering was perfect on the drive home, so hoping it'll hold up for a while in the bros' D2 too. Old one will end up getting a freshen up in the future.
All this additional stuff is getting done whilst it's apart while doing the trans hose, that burst its fitting a few weeks back.
I bought a genuine rear fog light reverse light unit. The non OEM one fell off around the Jamieson River, the spring broke or just fell out.
Hopefully the Genuine will stay in for more than a year or two. @ $244.00 I hope so!!

All sorted new harness in + CAS fired up first turn guess I got it right [bigsmile1]. So are the front wiring harness attached to the head meant to have rubber insulators ? I suspect the previous owner winged it as one had like 5 small washers on it... strange.
New and improved airbox, now has a 4inch inlet from the snorkle and more volume
Gtb550 VGT turbo is much happier
