Thought I would share this photo, fixing broken studs and warped manifold, the 4th vehicle I've done it on. This time, I decided to make everything pretty.... took them to work, sand blasted and painted..... shiney!

Replaced an airbag today and the new OEM bag blew out along the top ring! Lucky I had a spare spare which I take out on trips, but this is a cheap after market bag and not OEM. The new OEM bag I have is at least a couple of years old so doubt I have any recourse as to refund / replacement even though this is the first time it has been installed.
This along with a broken sensor (had tested the sensor on the Nanocom and it was reading 5.0V but the break was on the end of the arm and hence had not checked it, silly me) made a simple job a hell of a lot more frustrating.
Much much worse is the two optima batteries seem to have used their Depends pads and filled them up! So this time it will be two marine tops, rather than the one I have now, with the extra two (2) terminals welcomed.
Thinking also to mount external charging posts or an Anderson plug in the grill, no need to open the bonnet etc. Going to have surgery now for the broken shoulder and this will be another two months not being able to drive, hoping to get away on the Anzac day weekend to do the Deep Creek tracks up in the VHC if possible before this for the last hurrah of the 4HP as at the moment it is unlikely to get the plates and supports for the 8HP...

It's actually extremely handy for charging as I have also modded the charger with an anderson plug. Anderson plug to red/black spring clamps are readily available at the auto shops too (cheap enough to justify not making a set), to keep versatility.
My OKA has dual SB350 plugs front and rear. OK, that's probably overkill for your application, the OKA has a winch mounted to a hitch and has a hitch receiver front and rear, an idea I hate and will change..... But, the plugs can be used for other things, such as jumper leads and for charging.
I had the front wheels aligned at Treadcare, Altona North. $85.00 Great service. It is nice to have a level steering wheel.
There is a bit to much play in the steering wheel, so I need to see where the slop is. How do you get to the steering box tightening part? Is there a trick?
Have you first checked your tie rod / drag link ball joints? I had one worn one with about 1mm of play that contributed to loose steering. Haven’t ever adjusted the steering box but I suspect it needs doing after 365k km!

350 Anderson amp plug may be a bit of overkill for a 10-40 amp battery charger but certainly not wasted on a winch or jump starting though so maybe worthwhile to hook it to the power lead for the front winch, simple again.
Have my fridge out at moment so have good access to my panel.
That's the plan. The wiring is already there to mount permanent winches, and the plugs can stay for the other reasons.Quote:

OT, but the idea of having a demountable winch seems great, until you need to use it. Lugging a winch and its cradle about in nasty circumstances sucks.... ask me how I know.
