I changed the front brake pads. When I pushed one piston in, the other went out. I have found out that you can get a thing called a caliper spreader. As it is, I cracked the bleed thing and pushed the caliper. Then I had to bleed the brakes. That took ages, maybe 8 minutes if that,
Attachment 190659 Yesterday I fitted my dodgy bros custom rear bumper and rewired the white reversing lights up top as indicators with yellow globes.
Attachment 190660 No reverse lights on the bumper yet but the reverse buzzer is annoying enough on its own.
Attachment 190658 I seem to find an easter egg or two when I go into a new area of the vehicle and it turned out to be a modified reverse globe, no idea why or if it was there to trigger something or load the electrics or someone had too much time on their hands and too far from a parts shop?
Changed the starter motor. Dropped the exhaust engine pipe to get at the leaking top trans cooler pipe. Crow's foot spanner for that. Taking the turbo off to get at whatever it is that's leaking behind it.
Hope it's not a cracked filter housing.... And noticed the fuel cooler is weeping coolant[bigsad]Might be a hose, got to look further. While I'm there I'll rewire the CPS with shielded wire direct to the red plug, and replace the starter energising wire.
The fuel cooler doesn't do diddely once you replace the radiator with one that doesn't have the separated internal lower section as per original factory, you can remove it without detriment. Leave it in and fix leak if you have the original split section radiator as then it actually is a functioning fuel cooler.Quote:

Reason I want to use shielded wire is because the wires were damaged and I used plain flex for a temporary fix. This means that the starter being energised disrupts the hall effect of the CPS, making the engine slow to start. It’s fine once the engine starts.Quote:

With said airbag fitted the convoy set off. Son driving my D2, grandson in his Volvo and me steering the overgrown Kombi, behind the D2, but in front of the Volvo. The D2 was balking me, so I rounded him up, blowing the Td5 to the weeds.

What is the bus, Ian? When I did the 2000 Olympics ( put the date in in case you thought I meant '56 ) there was a bloke at the depot that did all the work I called the airbag whisperer. He could pop 'em back on in less than a minute if they popped off. This happened a few times, as one of the drivers kept mistaking the raise/lower switch for the battery master.
