I'm sure I've seen the same sort of gaps on custom steel rear bar installations.

IMG_20240706_163223.jpg Here's mine, I've adde3d a 20 watt floodlight above the left reflector as a reversing light. The up top reversing lights are now indicators with bright orange leds.
