I tend to use a rubber friendly grease there, whatever I have at hand. ATM that's a castor based grease.

Got the new head sitting on dinning room table,
Think ill have to buy a smaller torque wrench but as my 3/8in one starts at 18 ftlb and doesent like those low numbers and had to borrow a small one from work t check the cam carrier bolts.

also started on improving wiring running and location before the head goes back on, and need to fit new ends to the battery leads.

then also clean up the hoses for the extra cooler on the auto just make everything much neater and not so jumbles in

Installed a tuff-terrain snorkel tonight. Had a few minor issues. Not sure if these are common on all snorkels. Happy with the look. Will see how it performs on the road tomorrow. Will do a write up when I get a chance.
    .............
    Cheers, Josh

Coolant leaks returns after a year leak free. Turns out it was weeping from the four way connections on the bottom radiator hose. The clips on the four hoses were factory non adjustable crimped type, so removed them all and replaced with jubilee hex screw type clips. All back together so looking forward to another period of no leaks.
Hopefully quite a long period. What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

The factory type hose clamps although a bugger to remove and replace are actually batter than the jubilee type clamps because they are spring loaded

Not these ones. They were somehow stretched then crimped and not removable without destroying them. By “factory” I meant after market factory. What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

Tell us about the ‘minor issues’ mate.
I’m thinking about wacking on of these on the D2 in the next few weeks.

Replaced the standard globes in my ARB Bar with these little guys.... I was tired of looking at the trailer light flashing every time I used the indicators. All gone now.
